FOUNDATIONS Judson Communities

In 2011 Central partnered with International Ministries to develop a certificate program that would meet some basic educational needs for various Karen, Chin, KaChin and other Burmese Diaspora communities. This certificate program was named the FOUNDATIONS Judson Communities (FJC) certificate program.

The program has the following goals:

  1. Better prepare and equip pastors and leaders of congregations of people resettled in the USA from Burma/Myanmar.
  2. Provide training documentation for US regional representatives and denominational leaders to facilitate better understanding of where pastors from Burma/Myanmar fit into US organizations and perhaps be of help as pastors seek ordination.
  3. Make training available in a number of strategic locations around the US, so that as many pastors and church leaders as possible can participate.
  4. Cover basic bible, theology, church history, and special topics such as, second generation issues or counseling for people who have experienced trauma.

Since early 2012 over 400 Karen, Chin, KaChin, and other Burmese Diaspora students have participated in Central's FOUNDATIONS Judson Communities (FJC) certificate program. These students have participated in classes taught in Indiana, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Minnesota, Oregon, Texas, Washington DC, and California.
